把握時機！ 夏日「長大人」效果最好
（健康醫療網／記者許碩穎報導）父母都希望孩子能夠高人一等，所以總是絞盡腦汁為孩子準備「轉骨方」。醫師透露，許多家長都會拿著房間的轉骨方至門診詢問，但看了一下藥方，發現多為溫補藥。究竟夏天服用溫補藥性的轉骨方能不能順利「轉大人」？
臺北市立聯合醫院林森中醫院區中醫科申一中醫師表示，「轉骨」二字就是轉大人之意，是指孩子從孩童身材變成人，這不但只是強調身高要長高，還有身體的五臟六腑的強化、改善體質。而許多家長以溫補藥的方式進補，可能出現便秘、口乾舌燥、燥熱、失眠等問題。但良好的睡眠對孩子來說，是成長必要條件，一旦睡眠受到干擾，生長情況就容易不佳。
申一中醫師說明，轉骨方服用年齡應注意，最佳時機是男女第二性徵出現時服用為佳。此外，就季節特性而言，春生、夏長、秋收、冬藏，夏天是成長的季節，所以也是適合轉骨的時機。但由於夏天較為炎熱，因此夏天不太適合使用溫補藥轉骨方，應尋求專業醫師，針對個人體質來做調整，同時也可配合其他方式，如針灸，讓孩子長得又高又壯。坊間轉骨方大同小異，但不見得適合所有青少年，轉骨方所用藥物以補脾、疏肝、補腎為主，改善重點在於調整腸胃功能與整體身體狀況。
醫師強調，小孩要長高，飲食、睡眠、運動都非常重要。若長期服用大量含糖飲料、澱粉類食物、高熱量食物，新鮮蔬果卻攝取不夠，易營養不均衡，進而影響內分泌失去平衡影響發育。同時，應讓孩子養成早睡早起的習慣，配合生長激素分泌高峰的時間點，達到「一暝大一寸」的效果。
除了日常作息可配合轉骨之外，還可多做上下垂直的跳躍運動。申一中醫師說，父母疼愛孩子，希望子女各方面健康發展，卻忽略坊間轉骨湯的中藥材多為燥熱性質，往往因「補太多」，而造成孩子體質燥熱，適得其反。
醫師提醒，父母在給予轉骨湯之前，應注意若有孩童食欲不振或脾胃氣虛，導致形體消瘦的情形，則應先從改善腸胃著手。同時夏天適合轉骨但因為天氣較為炎熱，所以會有不同適合的藥物或方式（例如針灸）來進行。
